Led by Sue Ferner, Timbacats performed at a benefit day at St Margaret’s Church in Whalley Range in March this year. After the performance, we welcomed the audience to join in!

Check out the links, Juba do Leao are a local Maracatu group, some of us went to see them last Thursday, a very exciting & inspiring event! Global Grooves put on percussion and dance events and workshops around Manchester and One Voice Music also run intensive weekend and week long residential workshops, some in the North West and they sell Brazilian and Cuban percussion instruments (get your Christmas list sorted now!).

‘u-decide’ project

As a thank you for funding which Timbacats received at the end of last year, we will be playing at the next u-decide meeting at Manley Park School, College Road, Whalley Range. Voting for projects will begin at 5.30pm. Timbacats will be playing at 7.30pm .. ish!

We are a group of women who play Brazilian-style drumming. The group welcomes beginners and experienced women drummers.

We meet on Thursdays, 7-9pm

at St Margaret’s Church on Rufford Road in Whalley Range, Manchester.
